Dara Shugart is the self-taught hardwood and resin artist behind Sleeping Phoenix Designs based in Northern Michigan.
Through her art she gives form to abstract storytelling byway of mixing elements, textures, colors, materials, depth, and design concepts. Every piece is made mindfully, and intentionally in her home studio. She harvests native hardwoods and salvaged materials to create one of a kind pieces Sleeping Phoenix Designs is known for.
